Belkin's N1 Vision router has been making all kinds of noise this year for a handful of reasons. First, it is beautiful. Not many routers are as visually pleasing as the N1 Vision. Secondly, it is ready for the N Wi-Fi standard that will likely be busting onto the scene in 2008, therefore making it somewhat future-proof. Thirdly, it includes a lot of monitoring features that allows Mom to watch what the kiddos are downloading and doing on the web. And lastly, it can configure itself automatically upon plugging into the cable or DSL model. It does have a price tag to reflect all of the great aspects of this router at $200. [Dell]

These ads masquerading as posts are getting on my nerves.
Aren't these routers supposed to be crap anyway?
Everyone I know who picked one up for the wow factor has only been saying, "Wow it's amazing how bad it sucks."
I too was ready to shell out $200 for this baby, but after all of the first hand reports came in, I decided against it.
I've had nothing but bad experiences with their routers. Only when we bought one from another company did I realise that there was nothing wrong with either my computer or my wife's. Never again.
Gift for the geeky mom ? Sounds more like "Gift for the overprotective not talking to her children mom"
@Redwraithvienna: Or perhaps gift for the mom whose husband wants the router for himself is giving it to his wife so he can have it while still not giving it to himself.
I've had just about every brand router on the market to date from the cheapest to the best, and I must say the Belkin's have been the easiest to setup and get running out of the box. My Belkin routers have out lasted both the Netgear and Linksys units I have in my office.
Attention everyone! this router is cool

this got be the worse router outhere, i took it back the same day, the first thing you won't like is the middle button it has some kind of manufactures problem that will make you press it a couple of time so that the unit can respond, trust me i know i whent throw 3 of them on a single day and all had the same problem. first reason i brought it was because of the advertise 1600 foot range which is more like 160 feets if you ask me. all i can tell you is give it a chance if you want to but dont throw away your all router because your goin to want it back. now if you really want a nice one try the new Apple airport Extreme which is cheaper and better for any platform windows or mac it also has a usb port that will let you use a printer and a hardrive wirelessly
It sure is pretty, but I doubt it can handle the number of connections that the D-Link DIR-655 can handle.
I had a Belkin router once and it NEVER worked reliably. Constantly needed restarting...
I have mistakenly purchased several Belkin products. They have good packaging and marketing but frankly the performance and reliability of their products leaves much to be desires.
No more Belkin for me.
In this day in age where routers are a dime a dozen, I'm not shelling out $200 for no damn router no matter how many gizmos it's got.
I don't need no stinkin' router to setup for me and I can monitor my kids by giving them the crazy eye.
@howdytex:
Dude, that would be the coolest hack out there. "The new Belkin crazy eye"!
buying into the new N standard too early seems like an unnecessarily expensive thing to do. gonna wait for the reviews, like I always do, and buy the most bang for my buck.
I'd buy it - and then proceed to gut it to shove the innards of my D-Link 655 into it.
Not having to reboot the old router every 48-72 hours is still not worth $200.
