Chef or cook in your life have everything in the kitchen? Probably not this. This dishwasher adapter can detect the temperature of the water — 89 degrees or more will provide a red LED, less than that provides blue. There isn't a lot of practicality with a device like this, but it sure will make that kitchen pop a little more and at $20, you can't go wrong. Check out our review here. [Product Page]

Nice touchup, makes the faucet look like it's spouting blood. In the real world, it would be obvious that the water isn't red.
Ive seen these on gizmodo before.
I once got one that only does blue from the Discovery Store. The way it turns on and off is through the conductivity of the water, so make sure you turn your water completely off or you will drain the battery big time.
I got this last year. It is in the guest bathroom. Some love it some think I am a HUGE nerd. Sometimes I go in there and turn it on in the dark just to see the LED goodness. I guess that I AM a nerd. :)
I bought one of these so I will let you in on a little secret. Water tends to collect in the tip, making the light stay on, which then drains the battery in less than a day. Additionally, the pooled up water then rusts the insides and starts to grow mold. This thing quickly turns into a high school science project gone terribly wrong. Save your money.
@CaptLonestar: But how does it look? It obviously can't make the water completely red of blue as the picture shows. And how does it look with the lights on?
I'll buy one when the light fades from red to blue as the temp changes. That would be alot cooler than the single switch at 89.
My body does something similar. Evidently, just below 100F equates to yellow.
@Gann:Ditto.
Slow news day? Or are these re-runs due to the writer's strike? Oh, I thought giz would be immune... oh well.
tracer rounds for the kitchen and bathroom faucet. sick
I want something like this for my kids so they don't have to keep washing with the cold because they're afraid of burning their hands.
Excess urea and the LED is yellow.
meh, id rather not have to be afraid the tub is trying to eat me every time the water is hot.
Why does everyone on these blogs say "meh" whenever they're less-than-impressed by something?
It's becoming tedious!!!
From now on, we say "feh" LOL
@Gann: I agree, and instead of battery power it should have a small electric turbine inside.
It should be fun... "Dude, there's [blood/antifreeze] coming out of your faucet!!!"
