I am truly your greatest fan.
I will not follow you in my van.
Your genius for naming yourself fills me with piety,
My worthy, worthy, Lord Auld_Lang

Yeah, nothing like an awkward lunge for the old keyboard.
With a mouse gesture, it would only take a nearly imperceptible flick of the wrist.

@goldenthorn:
Sorry, we didn't say the same thing at all.
Nothing classist or strident here, except for you and Dean.
A simple, subtle point.

@goldenthorn: @Garrison Dean, King Awesome:
It's amazing how you both manage to so completely miss the point.
Americans have superhero cultural icons.

Auld_Lang_Ziety commented on Bill Nye The Science Guy Tells Larry King He's All Alone, at 3:59 PM on Jul 7
Hey, thousands of people worldwide must be wrong about UFOs if Bill Nye the Science Guy says there is a logical explanation.
But the thought persists: If just one person who claims to have seen a ghost is correct, then ghosts exist.

Most everything I know about advanced cloning, personal sentient computers, vehicles that transform into weapons systems, and interstellar wormhole travel, I learned from Jack "King" Kirby.
Hopefully, by the time the Anti-Life Equation is published, I will have established a Mothership Connection and split the scene, man...

Auld_Lang_Ziety commented on The Truth About Microscopic Black Holes and the Utter Destruction of Earth, at 1:07 PM on Jul 2
I love it when they say:
"The chances of a microscopic black hole forming are impossibly small."
It's either impossible, or improbable, but not both.
Anyway, Buffy, Supernatural, and Mortal Kombat all offer documentary evidence that when the inter-dimensional portal opens, well-trained human fighters will be able to defeat the hell-spawn that emerges in a good, old-fashioned slugfest.

Here's what works for me:
Using my free hand, I use two fingers to "pinch" the back of ring, in effect pulling the skin through the ring.

So let me get this straight...
The day of the year with the most sunlight is the happiest day of the year, and the most depressing day occurs around the time that the days are the shortest.
Dang.

@Snapper:
Global climate change may or may not be occurring, and it may or may not be related to human consumption and pollution.
Your position is that the best course of action is to continue consuming and polluting as though it were not happening.
Some happen to think that the best course is to act as though it is happening, and as though we are causing it.

So let me get this straight...
I go on a spelunk, and everyone in my group dies horribly.
I make it out alive, and the cops want me to go back in the cave...riiight.
The premise may have seemed plausible for Ripley in Aliens, but this one seems like a non-starter.
