Apple needs to focus on leveraging their Iphone/Ipod market penetration and integrating it with their Macs in a way that synergizes big-time. They can't be wasting their time trying to switch chipsets to eek out 3 or 5% more graphicmegaflopdoohickeys, which will not affect sales by even 1%, but will suck up massive amounts of cash and time, re-writing the CORE of OS-X, and fixing bugs (while losing sales because they don't dual boot, and won't run microsoft office for 6 months or maybe ever again. It was a laughable rumor. more » [gizmodo]

Does anybody have a computer case mod that's basically a vertical column with air intakes along the bottom and chimney out the top, and lets convection pull the heat out the top? It would be pretty stylish, and if you set it up right, probably go easier on the internal fans too... more » [gizmodo]

dcartist commented on Data Encryption Easily Broken Using Keys Hiding In RAM, at 12:08 AM on Mar 6 This reminds me of how NSA demo'd how to get into the memory of a smart card by physically microdrilling a hole into the physical card, and reading the registers... - In the case of volatile RAM though, Why not simply run a shutdown bot that zeros the system RAM whenever you shut down the OS? more » [gizmodo]
