If you think high-end gaming PC you usually think Alienware, Voodoo PC or Falcon Northwest, but there is one gem hidden away that can shock and awe more than any of the others. It is the Blackbird 002 from HP.
Not only does this box look like something meant for an art museum, but it packs quite the punch internally as well. The configuration is completely customizable, but some options are Quad-Core processors, upwards of 4 GB of memory, dual GeForce 8800 Ultras, 1 TB of storage and more. Let the noobs buy the Alienwares, the Blackbird 002 is in a league of its own. Prices start at $2,400. [HP]

The Blackbird 002 really is gorgeous and powerful (as opposed to the lackluster and impotent, much like my in-laws (not that I've tried to get pregnant by my father-in-law and failed -- why would you even think that?). But I have to wonder how much of the cooling design is hype. Similarly conceived aluminum hard drive enclosures ended up running hotter than unsightly but spacious enclosures with second fans.
Perhaps I'll wait until the bleeding tech has coagulated along with the price tag and buy one these -- if the experience of earlier users prove as seamless as that glinting hoverer looks.
Lord, that sounded illiterate. Here's a fairer copy:

I will personally marry whoever gives this to me as a Christmas present. :)
@cheesemon: Maybe if you were a hot chick.
the reason why the aluminum base can hold up to 600lbs is that after you buy this incredibly awesome machine you will be so broke this will be your gaming chair
2,400.00?
Can someone just make a knockoff case?
I'll build my own.
it looks cool, and the specs sounds nice... but then you remember: its an HP.
Buy a high-end unit from HP? Hell would have to freeze over. Have you ever sampled their support?
The unit was designed by voodoo so don't worry about the build quality/performance. The tech support however...
HP needs to offer it with 64bit Vista.
